OT: monitor set ups for multi tablers?
currently i 12 table the 16s on stars, but before i go to college next year i need to get a better monitor(s). Currently i 12 table on a 19" wide screen (1440x900) and its a little crowded but I can handle it. I would like to increase the number of tables I can play (this resolution can currently only support 12), and am wondering if you guys have any suggestions/complaints about specific monitors? Any help would be great.
right now im thinking the 22" widecreen Samsung, but i would love to hear your thoughts |

Re: OT: monitor set ups for multi tablers?
Widescreen sucks for multitabling. I got 3 samsung 204b 20" regular monitors. You NEED 1600x1200 resolution. This will let you play 4 tables on each monitor without overlap. I may get a 4th. www.techforless.com has some refurbished ones for like $219 each or so. If you like to gamble, they're cheap and have worked fine for me.

Re: OT: monitor set ups for multi tablers?
The 204B in the Stars store can 9 table without overlap (smaller tables though), and do 12 with some overlap.. I would assume that the larger widescreen monitor could do 12 without overlap at all. If you have points you're willing to spend that would probably be good. Either that or you could go with multiple 204Bs, I have one and I love it, if I get rid of my laptop I plan to get atleast a second one.

Widescreen = more overlap Kevin.

Re: OT: monitor set ups for multi tablers?
The widescreen is a bigger monitor, its not just a 20" widescreen (which would be smaller). I'm pretty sure it holds way more tables without overlap. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm talking about the two in the Stars store.

Hmm... i'd have to investigate. Sorry, didn't read your post well enough to realize you were talking about the FPP store.
I guess what I meant to say is that 20" non-wide = better resolution & more tables than 20" wide. |

The two in the store that I'm talkin about are 20.1" regular and a 24" widescreen which is enormous. Costs way more FPPs though and would be cheaper to get with cash through 5400 satellites. |

Re: OT: monitor set ups for multi tablers?
right now, im not really looking to do it through the FPP store, because the FPP prices there are rather high, better to just do the 5400 sats
as for widescreen v regular, i have gotten so used to a widescreen, i really think that i should get one of those thanks a lot though guys |

Re: OT: monitor set ups for multi tablers?
Keep your current widescreen for whatever but I think you're screwing yourself if you don't get at least a 1600x1200 screen--widescreen's are generally inferior for multitabling. Their resolution sucks unless you go HUGE.

Re: OT: monitor set ups for multi tablers?
im using a 30" dell @ 2560x1600 native resolution.
12 tables without overlap looks really good (3 rows of 4 tables) 16 tables without overlap is fine but the text on stars is starting to look a bit small I usually run 16 tables by having 12 tiled then another 4 along the bottom of the screen with the top 50% of those tables overlappin with the bottom 50% of the 3rd row of 4 tables. I like it, works well. |
