T-Mobile is also GSM. [/ QUOTE ] Yes. [ QUOTE ] They share cells with Cingular. [/ QUOTE ] No. Cingular is a roaming partner in some areas, but it's rare. T-Mobile did buy their California network from Cingular, but it was a while ago. |

We dont get out much, remember its a big state, but, yes, they are separate in other parts of the country |

this was not a joke. if you can't appreciate the coolness of this phone then there is something wrong with you. you would be the biggest attention grabber in the bar. [/ QUOTE ] You should buy a cheap phone, and some how mesh the electronics and the phone case so you can use that big phone, becuase it is so sweet. |

I do customer service for Cingular and it's not that uncommon to have T-Mobile customer's to be on a Cingular tower and dial 611 for customer service. It happens all the time, and this is for the Eastern half of the US, no where near Cali. |

[/ QUOTE ] T-Mobile has their own towers/network in the GSM 1900 band and has agreements with Cingular regarding their 850 band towers when customers are outside the T-Mobile/PCS network. Many T-Mobile phones from early in the decade are 'tri-band' phones and cannot use the Cingular 850 mhz network, most phones made these days are 'quad-band' or 'world phones' |

Re: I need GSM phone service help.
The phone in the OP is almost definitely not GSM. Motorola did make a GSM version of the "Gordon Gekko" phone, but the first versions had LCD displays, not the older red LED display as shown in the OP.
