I need GSM phone service help.
I just bought this phone today and it is GSM. I was wondering what cell phone providers can give service to it.

Re: I need GSM phone service help.
It's quite likely that none will support that phone.

Re: I need GSM phone service help.
Why would anyone buy that phone? I hope you didn't pay more than $5 for it.

Re: I need GSM phone service help.
I'm going to take an educated guess.
Fact: It's an old phone. Fact: Many old phones supported higher power outputs than modern phones. Hypothesis: The OP lives in a poorly covered area, and thinks a higher power phone will improve his reception. However, the OP doesn't know that all modern GSM networks utilize frequency hopping, which this phone will not support. It won't work. In addition, cellular coverage is a two way street. Having a high powered handset will not improve the reception of signals. Seen this exact thing before. Nice paperweight you have there. |

this was not a joke. if you can't appreciate the coolness of this phone then there is something wrong with you. you would be the biggest attention grabber in the bar.

Re: I need GSM phone service help.
In the US, only Cingular provides a GSM network, barring some minor regional carriers that may also use it. Verizon/Sprint/most other mainstream carriers are CDMA
