I go to NYU and one of my best friends goes to ND.
They are completley different. If you want the normal college party life, you should probably go to ND. If you want to be more into the hip, bar hopping clubbing scene, go to NYU. Academically, NYU-stern is substantially harder than ND. For me, the catholic lifestyle, no hard liqour, no girls past 2am, everyone goes to mass is a little over the top ridiculous for me. NYU is very exspensive and since you somehow could go to ND for cheaper, ND becomes a very plausible option. NDs dorms end up like a frat experience, you bond with your floormates, NYU you don't. NYU will offer you a lot more opportunities for internships, jobs, and the academic frats will offer you good networks of alumni and insight into your areas of interest. If you want to do ibanking or get jobs at morgan stanley, you should probably go to NYU. If you want more partying and still have the ability to get great jobs after college ND becomes a distinct possibility. |

I actually went to ND for about 2 weeks before I decided it wasent the cup of tea for me. I found the religious atmosphere to be very intense, and considering I'm liberal and not catholic and do not belive in many of the catholic ideologies I made an informed decision to not attend ND.
IMO, ND is an instuition which dosent mind making a buck or two. Not a bad thing, but I find it hypocritical when you embrace the catholic faith and at the same time bilk people for their money and justify it by providing them with "tradition". |

[/ QUOTE ] All he's saying is that the catholic faith DOES bilk people for their money and give them 'tradition', it's not just ND that does it. He's laughing because you think it's hypocritical that ND does it, when it's pretty much in line with all mass organized religions. |

NYU for sure, I chose Kelley atIU over Stern (financial reasons)and have really regreted it. four years in NY would do you more good if you want them to, than any college degree

nyu, but if you don't like the city environment you won't like nyu. and i'm not talking about clubbing or things like that. I'm talking about living in the city. I love it, others don't.
