I read recently that wine has overtaken beer as Americans' most-consumed alcoholic beverage. Beer companies are probably trying to win back their market share.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah it's an issue of primary vs. secondary demand. Lots of beer commercials have pretty meaty/fratty/sporty themes, which doesn't create a positive general perception of beer for much of the population. These commercials are about reminding people that beer can be a good 'ol part of everyday life, even sometimes classy. The thing about the beer industry is that the people to whome the vast majority of beer commercials are targeted are going to consume the same amount of the product no matter what. The industry has realized that there are lots of people who need to be reminded that beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy. |
