Thanks for taking the extra time fiasco to break down my questions. I'm still on the learning curve for this game too. I still think I check/fold flop here, but i do see your logic.

Agreed, what was the outcome?

one final thing, check-folding cant be too big a mistake in this situation. As long as youre not playing too weak-tight or predictably its not gonna effect your win-rate too dramatically if you avoid marginal situations.

You got lucky getting the hand heads up against someone you could commit on a good turn card. A good turn only comes about 1/3 of the time, and even then you usually won't be that far ahead.

I don't hate a check raise here, but if you're gonna do it... POT IT! I might do the same thing if I had AA.. it's going to be very high variance though.


I'd probably just check call, maybe fold though.. only cards that help u are A, J. Which is why I normally reserve the check raise in these spots for when I have at least some kind of low potential.. 25, 35.. even 56 wouldn't be awful as then you're trying to push out anyone with a better low draw with your check raise.
