Meh, the B is the last place I'd expect to see this happen.

but getting into a screaming bout on the casino floor is just counter-productive [/ QUOTE ] Who said anything about a screaming match? You can be perfectly calm while asking the dealer what the hell he thinks he's doing. b |

Re: Dealer advises opponent. Whaddya do?
[ QUOTE ]
He is grabbing for more chips. Dealer leans over and tells him that if I have an overpair then JT is no good. [/ QUOTE ] In 15 years of cardroom play I have never heard of this happening. Forget the floor, call in the shift manager or meet with them after the hand and demand a follow-up. I think I would also go to the gaming commission to report the dealer. However, for sake of argument, what would you do if the player, presumably drunk or inexperienced, asked the dealer if an overpair would beat TJ and the dealer then answered? |

Re: Dealer advises opponent. Whaddya do?
First off I would immediately say to the dealer that advising players during the hand is a clear violation of the one player to a hand rule and that you want the floor right now. Don't finish your action till the floor arrives. Insist the floor watches the rest of the hand to enforce the rule on the dealer. You don't have to yell but I'd make damn sure to make a point here to this dealer.
Next, he's not getting another tip from me till hell freezes over, and I'm going to tell him that as soon as the hand is over. If you made your point effectively when the floor arrives you can't do too much more than that. If the floor is a schmuck I'd take it to a more reliable manager after that. Al |

Finish the hand, sit the next hand out and have a little conversation with the floor. create a scene in front of the table. [/ QUOTE ] Too tired to look for the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, but: OFF WITH HER HEAD |

Re: Dealer advises opponent. Whaddya do?
I can't even comprehend advising a player while dealing, much less during a hand, but I can easily comprehend what the table reaction would be if I did.

FOLLOW UP???
OP, So what was the floor's ruling/reaction.
The dealers at the B are usually the most technically proficient overall of any casino I've seen, and prob. the most highly sought after job as far as dealing poker goes. I wouldn't be surprised if: nothing happened / fired / suspended / sent home, given the range of competence/care shown by B's floor-people. p.s. i wouldn't make a stink during the hand, in case villain actually had JT and was gonna put in 2 more BB!! |
