You were travelling twice the speed limit. The punishment should be more than the $445 and a few points you got. [/ QUOTE ] HE WAS ON THE [censored] FREEWAY. |

It sounds like OP is saying that just about everyone goes ~50mph through that part of the highway. If that's true, what's more dangerous, going the speed of traffic (which is a reasonable 50, its not like everyone is doing 150) or being the only one to slow down to 25?

I'm confused about how a straight and wide open stretch of land is a speed trap. Maybe that's just me though.

[/ QUOTE ] He was traveling twice an artificially low speed limit, most likely left at half of traffic flow speed for revenue generation reasons. I don't see how he should have to pay more. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] sounds like you didn't plead the ticket down. Probably could have avoided most of the points. [/ QUOTE ] Can't plead down tickets from state troopers. Sucks. [/ QUOTE ] Whoever told you this is wrong and cost you a lot of grief and $$. You can plead with the assistant DA in the county you get the ticket in no matter who gave it to you. Generally first speeding ticket is reduced to no points non-moving violation with no hassle. Standard reduction unless it is a DUI offense - then your screwed.
