Logic is the study of valid inference

Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change.

Mathematical logic is the point where both overlap.

A lot of the discussion on the relationship between mathematics and logic is headed nowhere because people aren't clear on what is meant with different terms.

I started in NL and still play NL. When I get bored of dominating NL then I might switch to limit.

If you are truly a brilliant person then it should not matter what game you are playing. The skills required to become extremely successful:

1. Intelligence bordering on genius IQ.
2. Extreme confidence bordering on arrogance.
3. Self discipline.
4. Emotional control.
5. Shortstacking 200/400NL.
6. Having a handy scapegoat for your mega-life-tilts.

Bottom line.

These boards are starting to bore me...

The things, the better your recall and subconscious hand reading skills the easier the math becomes, which is one reason why I think many good players aren't great at the pure math aspect.

For instance, in the 43 hand you posted, on the turn a semibluff shove may very well be the best play depending on your fold equity. If you have played 5k hands with this player and have an image of him worked out in ur mind, (lets say for the reasons stated we know he wont raise a boat and will rarely show up with an overpair) and if you are very conscious of your own image at the table, it may very well be you have close to 100% fold equity, making the math veeerry simple. (and you may not know exactly why you gauge ur fold equity to be that high)

Ok, I used to joke alot about how bad limit players are at no limit. Guess what? They're better then NL players! Why?

Reason #1: They can actually do math.

ok, case closed.

Is this a contest to see who can come up with the most asinine broad-sweeping generalization?
