Re: Nice flop in limped pot with deep stakcs and position
[ QUOTE ]
lol guys the overbet on the river was kinda because I was too lazy to estimate the pot size, and I thought villain might have lower two pair, and well, people don't fold two pair. But I only get that amount if I bet less. Also, I was assuming I had the best hand 99.999% of the time, and remembering the "mr bluffer" comment pulled the trigger in my head. [/ QUOTE ] Villain would bet 2 pair because you can't raise without a straight. Bet less, get value from one pair hands. |

Re: Nice flop in limped pot with deep stakcs and position
I was thinking along the lines that it isn't a straight as much as you are saying. If villian pushes aren't we getting almost 3:1 on the call? I would say it's 2 pair that much of the time given your not sure of villian as a player.
I was kind of thinking that a good player leads for value on the river not wanting to let a hand that would call check behind. I would if I had the str8 here. Also as a side note if you are afraid of a straight here why are we shoving? |

Re: Nice flop in limped pot with deep stakcs and position
rrp, I agree, your river line is better. I was just explaining my reasoning at the time. I get caught in the moment when I play poker, I'm not always in the state of mind which I am in when I am discussing here in this forum.
[ QUOTE ] Also as a side note if you are afraid of a straight here why are we shoving? [/ QUOTE ] As I said, I don't necesarrily think the river bet was optimal at all. However, I'm not really very afraid of the straight here. People check the nuts on the river soooo rarely. I think villain has that like maybe 0.5% of the time given his check. However, if I see him CRAI on the river here, I'm gonna assume that this is extremely likely to be one of those times |

Re: Nice flop in limped pot with deep stakcs and position
What do I know... but I kinda like the river. It sets a tone for the table if you win. (I like a raise prf though).
If he had you beat he played 66 pretty passive... 9T or AT is idiot-savant-like-play that's pure genius on the river. |

Joey
I have 66 beat on this board. Also, 66 prolly folds the flop. Another question for the rest of you guys: How do we like villains line if he holds AT, especially focusing on the river? |

I play AT this way never on the river. Except if I knew you were going to shove.

Re: Nice flop in limped pot with deep stakcs and position
If hes got AT, I hate his river check.. hes just raised us and knows we've got something, I agree that if villain crai here an extremely high percentage of the time its gonna be the nuts. But I cant see villain checking the nuts to us here... hes raised us on the turn and there are just too many hands we could have where we'd be happy to check behind on the river with a decent pot out there already

Re: Nice flop in limped pot with deep stakcs and position
