Im sure holocaust survivors agree that O'Reilly is worse then Hitler himself.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, because that's what Olbermann says.

Given his obsession over O'Reilly, it wouldn't shock me if he really thinks that way, just like most simplistic minded ideologues.

JoA,
Don't get dragged into politics in SE.
You're better than this.

TNM,

I just can't help myself! Case in point:

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, who do you think is sounding simple-minded here?

They are so close to being the same that it's scary. Sure, they are on different ends of the spectrum, but they use the same horrible tactics.

[/ QUOTE ]

OK, please tell me when Olbermann has ever:

- Said a kidnapped child "liked" being with his captor
- Threatened someone who disagreed with him by saying they'll be visited by security
- Blamed a woman for ever getting raped and murdered
- Advocated the destruction of an American city
- Continuously confused a Nazi massacre of Americans with a American massacre of Nazis.
- Advocated the arrest of someone you disagree with as traitors.

Or anything like this.

Hell, I understand thinking he's a pompous ass or whatever, but the vile, hateful crap O'Reilly is comparable to few people.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is exactly what I expected from an Olbermann 'fanatic'

the two guys are nearly identical, just different ideologies

both ideologies suck IMO, but that is irrelevant

they both spread hate
they both cut off meaningful discourse
they both have their 'witty' one-liners and soundbites instead of real discussion
they both view things in a simplistic, causal manner instead of seeing the externalities and deep layers
they both are trying to further an agenda through whatever means possible
they both 'dumb down' discourse
they both hurt the country

I realize many will disagree. I also fully believe those many are quite, quite wrong.

Are you incapable of answering my question?

Let me do some research. Hmm... let's look at the Media Research Center set on exposing liberal bias in the media. Surely, they'll have a ton of stuff on Olbermann. In the last 30 days, all the have is Olbermann saying that Rush Limbaugh was worse than Don Imus, and referenced Limbaugh's "Halfrican-American" comment about Barack Obama and Halle Berry.

Note, that this is an organization that awarded Rush Limbaugh the "Award for Media Excellence."

I guess if you want to go wild, here's a link. I suspect that the worst you'll find:

- Olbermann said that the GOP's tactics in the mid-term elections - constantly bringing up 9/11 and saying that Democrats want defeat in Iraq, or electing Democrats mean the terrosist win fits the dictionary definition of terrorism.
- He once said Ken Starr looks like Heinrich Himmler.

Well, I haven't heard him on the Dan Patrick radio show, does he inject politics there?

[/ QUOTE ]

I didn't see anyone reply to this question yet so let me answer with a resounding YES. It gets pretty annoying sometimes, and based on the listener feedback they read on the air most people seem annoyed by it. He and Dan really have great chemistry though, so I enjoy their banter in spite of some annoying political yack.

ok, that seems annoying to me, even as someone who likes Olbermann, if I'm listening to sports I don't want to hear political stuff.

I don't listen to Dan's show that often (talk about too big for britches) but do occasionally. Last Thursday amidst all the Imus flap I had to turn off Patrick/Olbermann. Keith was obnoxious with his political views and he didn't even make valid points.
