Now that you checked the flop, check behind the turn for the free card. He prob has TT or JJ, so I like ur flop check behind since people liek always c/c or c/rai on this kind of flop with those, so its nice to c all 5 cards for free.

Who the hell just calls 1/2 their stack preflop with AK out of position in a lp/blind battle? Phil u crazy

I know, but I have been in this exact same situation 4 times in the last couple of weeks where I held AK in OP's situation and we checked it down b/c I thought there is no way my opponent can have AK and will obviously call my push on ragged board. And all 4 times it got checked down and we chopped.

Doesn't his oppent now need to fear a flush draw so he should push turn if he has AA? And if he has KK or less wouldn't he fear an A or diamon hitting and push? I really think oppent has AK here.

if you checked the flop, don't bet the turn. It looks like exactly what you have.

[/ QUOTE ]
doesn't it look even more like what you have when you check a second time on the turn?

Checking twice with a pocket pair would be kind of strange of him to do here. I feel like shoving the turn has a chance of pushing off maybe another AK. If he has AK he might read us correcetly as weak on the river as well and shove into us.

From my experience this is AK far more then other hands. Probably just a small sample though.

AK or JJ-QQ I guess, I don't see a guy who 3 bets kinda light checking AA or KK here.

Without reads I would check, I would perhaps dare a bet if a quick check by him on turn might smell like AK I guess. Then again I would blunder and bet flop
