Few people are going to have the natural ability, free time, and inclination to pick stocks that beat the market by any substantial amount.

But lots of people make money part time buying houses or apartments and then renting them out. It's harder to make money at this now than it used to be given the high prices, but you can still do it in some places. Of course, you have to deal with tenants and be somewhat handy and so on.

It's not for everyone but it doesn't have to be a 10 yr 24/7 obsession.

I wanna make a note:

Focus your energy on one method of investing first and commit your time and effort to mastering it. Forget the rest.

Trying to learn everything will overwhelm you with too much information.

For example, learning how to invest in real estate requires many different skill sets than learning how to invest in the stock market. Learning how to do both at the beginning is short of impossible.

Some other books you need to throw into your list:

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
7 Habits of highly Effective people by Stephan Covy
Maximum Achievement by Brian Tracy


Get a booklist of like 100+ books you will need to read within the next few years. Devour all of them.

I don't want to start another Rich Dad Poor Dad argument here...

But it truly is a good book for someone who has no idea whatsoever.
After you have an idea, there are better books to continue your education.

This is my opnion also. But this is after reading the threads on here discussing the cons of the book, so I am careful when reading it...

I agree, for a total beginner, it should be read. It will not tell you specifically HOW to invest but change your mindset ON investing.

Millionaire next door? It's OK. Be frugal, spend your money wisely, etc...

Read that book cover to cover in 1 or 2 days, don't rememeber.
