Also, Memphis's top scorer is still listed as questionable and didn't go through the team workout today.

The A&M fan contingent is expected to be 20k+ strong.

The line is correct, but I do really like the over.

yeah I'm not really saying the line isn't correct...but someone's gotta cover, and I like Memphis...especially 1-H.

Added:

Pittsburgh vs. UCLA under 123 (2 units):

I know it seems kinda square, "take the under on the low scoring teams" even if the total's low, but looking at comparative scores, I really don't see this cracking 120.

UCLA's most similar opponents to Pitt this year:
Def. Washington St. 55-52 (107)
Def. Washington St. 53-45 (98)
Def. Indiana 54-49 (103)

Pitt's most similar opponents to UCLA:
Def. Depaul 59-49 (108)
Lost to Louisville 66-53 (119)
Def. Louisville 66-59 (124)
Vs. West Virginia (good comparison defensively only): gave up 47 and 66 (113)

The point is that the evidence shows this game's going to be extremely low-scoring. Of the 6 games that were easily comparable, only went over 123 and that was only by one point. This total seems like it's at least 4 or 5 points too high to me.

SoIll had a 4 rpi, is 17th in Sagarin, played the 8th toughest sked, pretty much whooped a solid VaTech team , is 14th in Pomeroy Defense and #1 in Consistency [whereas Kansas is 282].
You can't imagine Kansas perhaps having a poor shooting night? SoIll has 5 guys who can run, they are not slow, Self took a similar Tulsa team to the Elite 8, KU doesn't even have a size advantage over them. Kansas has no seniors and they managed to lose to OralR and DePaul this year [altho not recently].
The Salukis are a 4-seed, they most certainly can win. Zabian Dowdell had a monster year and he got shut down by their D, totally.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not debating KU-SIU, but would argue point about VaTech being really solid. If it weren't for Illinois going into 4 corners with 8 minutes left and throwing crosscourt passes, VaTech should not have even seen the Salukis. Illinois did a great job holding Dowdell to nothing (8pts) as did SoIll (7pts).

VaTech was AWFUL on offense (missed FT, at least 2 missed breakaway layups/dunks) vs. Illinois. Dowdell was shutdown and the book on VaTech is shutdown Dowdell and no other consistent scorers.

I also think we saw the "depth" or relative strength of ACC this year exposed in tourney. Other than NC no team really was setup to go far at all.

Cliff notes: Va Tech wasn't a real good team in the tourney.

I think TAMU will crush Memphis. So far this tournament 2 of TAMUs higher scores have been slow. I expect both of them to have a good game in San Antonio. Memphis has not played any GREAT teams all year and the Aggies defense is one of the top in the countries. TAMU has played alot of good teams this year and all of the games have been close. I think TAMU pulls this one out and then beats tOSU to make the final 4. The game being in San Antonio sure helps.

I'm on too many games today

Texas A&M -3, over 134.5
UCLA -3
OSU -5 (bah), under 145

I really like the first two spreads and the OSU under. Feeling decent about the TAMU over as well. I hate OSU -5 right now.

[/ QUOTE ]hah, I'm on too many as well. I have all of those except A&M over, I may add that later. I think OSU is going to come out pretty strong, so I'm pretty comfortable on them covering.

I imagine most of the value in the TAMU over has been sucked out right now, it looks to be 136 everywhere? Good luck on the rest of them, glad to see someone else playing the same.

(betting on every game due to a prop bet with a friend)

So far I'm on:

Kansas -9
Texas A&M -3.5
UCLA -3.5
OSU -4.5

I just HATE giving the points though for all four games. I did that in the 2nd round with most of my picks being the favourites, and stumbled to a 6-9-1 record. I haven't put bets on yet and will be waiting till later to do it @ Pinny.
