Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I'll probably be checking out River Cree or Yellowhead. Probably won't be wearing any Flames gear though. Last time I did things got a little heated

Unless you're willing to incorporate the built-in tilt factor of wearing the jersey while you play, that's a good plan. lol

So I wound up checking out River Cree as I only had time during the day to play. So I missed out on Yellowhead's scheduled 7pm 15/30 game. What are these scheduled games about anyway? Does someone call ahead or something?

Anyway, the casino and the poker room were both very nice. Loved all of the natural light coming into the place. Didn't like the nitty patrons and the fact that nobody would put a straddle on in the 1/2 games. Also too bad cash doesn't play, makes topping up or rebuying a bit of a hassle. Might check out Yellowhead next time.

Several of the Edmonton rooms have scheduled games (e.g. the DC game at Century on sunday with the only Hi/Low in town). The scheduled game gets listed after the previous game gets completed and you can put your name on the list. The regulars at each room usually sign up early and by scheduling the game it prevents it from filling up with donks. If you plan on coming up call ahead and at least get your name on the reserve list if the game is full.

Actually, Yellowhead will deal O/8 as part of their dealer's choice games, but it doesn't go very often, and when it does, it's usually 4/8.

You say this like it's a good thing...

To the OP or anyone who cares, River Cree runs a 5/5 PL DC game on almost a nightly basis these days, and it occasionally gets bumped to 10/10 PL. A mix of decent players and gamblers from what I've seen.
