Re: Who has the best tourney results since the boom (2003)?
[ QUOTE ]
I think Daniel has the best tournament results to date. I think Daniel is the best of your list to watch for entertainment value. I suspect that Phil Ivey is the better player, but he hasn't had the better results. [/ QUOTE ] Very well put. It will be hard to argue against that point. More recently, Joe Hachem is starting to prove himself as a consistantly high performer as well. I think his tournament winnings now exceed over US$10 Million. A similar survey a couple of years from now, would be very interesting. Anyway, this has been a very enjoyable thread to read. Well played |

Re: Who has the best tourney results since the boom (2003)?
this is very debatable. You seem to have overlooked volume. Phil Ivey has played the least volume by far and is still right up there with these guys so I would say it is clearly him. The numbers are better for Cunnigham and Negreanu(especially) because they play in way more tournies. the number you posted are skewed due to this so PHIL IVEY IS THE MOST BALLIN TOURNEY PLAYER.

you can say jamie gold won $12 million so he is best but thats obviously not the case so money cant be viewed as the main object even though it should weigh in heavily.

He has probably played in the least of the 4 guys - he played smaller tournaments a few years ago, but now he doesn't even play a lot of the 10Ks. |

Re: Who has the best tourney results since the boom (2003)?
Poker might need a "World Ranking" scale like golf where you factor in the amount of wins. Remember when Vijay was on a tear and it took him forever to become the #1 rated player because of all of the events he players compared to the limited schedule that Tiger plays.

That would be nice, but then you'd need to know the full field for every tournament, and that's never happening.

Re: Who has the best tourney results since the boom (2003)?
Has anyone stopped and realized that the guys in the poll used to run together when they were up and coming. They are like the 'Dream Team' and "Fab Four" of poker!!!
