We've now had an entire 4 years since the "poker boom" started with the beginning of the WPT broadcasting on TV, and Moneymaker winning the WSOP. We all know the extremely large amount of variance in big field tournament poker... but perhaps now we can compare some of the resumes of players.
Notes: -PPT, and WPT Invitational are the only invitational events I included in the numbers. Poker Superstars, Poker After Dark, etc are not included in winnings. -WPT/WSOP final tables includes any top 9 finishes, although the WPT point system is only for the televised final table. Allen Cunningham Total approximate winnings: $7.3 million WPT Winnings: $775,586 Final tables: 3 Points: 1,100 WSOP Winnings: $5,417,284 Final tables: 8 Bracelets: 2 Other tournaments/awards -2005 WSOP Player of the Year -------------------------------------------------- Phil Ivey Total approximate winnings: $5.7 million WPT Winnings: $1,152,896 Final tables: 6 Points: 3,000 WSOP Winnings: $1,990,357 Final tables: 6 Bracelets: 1 Other tournaments/awards -3rd place, 2004 Monte Carlo Millions -2nd place, 2005 WSOP Circuit, Lake Tahoe -1st place, 2005 Turning Stone Championship -1st place, 2005 Monte Carlo Millions -2nd place, 2006 EPT Barcelona -------------------------------------------------- John Juanda Total approximate winnings: $4.5 million WPT Winnings: $1,180,326 Final tables: 8 Points: 3,100 WSOP Winnings: $1,075,808 Final tables: 9 Bracelets: 2 Other tournaments/awards -1st place, PPT Foxwoods 2004 -2nd place, 2006 WSOP Circuit, Borgata -------------------------------------------------- Daniel Negreanu Total approximate winnings: $7.4 million WPT Winnings: $5,355,307 Final tables: 8 Points: 5,400 WSOP Winnings: $831,173 Final tables: 10 Bracelets: 2 Other tournaments/awards -2004 WSOP Player of the Year -Cardplayer 2004 Player of the Year -1st place, 2006 WSOP Circuit, Tunica |

D.N because hes slightly above allen in money rankings and DN is more popular.
But Allen gets underrated as hell. |

Just to reiterate - this isn't a poll of who is the best player. This is simply asking who has the best results - which is yours to judge since people find different aspects of results to be more important.

When I saw the thread name I immediately thought DN and I have no doubt that he is clearly the correct answer, still it's worth mentioning that DN plays a lot more events than AC so I have to assume AC is leading this pack when it comes to profit.
Just a side note, in any case, DN is the obvious answer. |

You can make an argument for any of these players, their numbers are all very close. |

![]() I think it is clearly Negreanu if you are only counting WSOP/WPT affiliated events. If you include the other events you listed, it is a close call b/w DN and Ivey. |

Wow you need to check your facts. The number of events that Allen Cunningham plays dwarfs DN. Cunningham is on circuit and plays many perliminaries DN plays pretty much plays none. In fact Allens wins have only come in smaller events.

But Allen gets underrated as hell. [/ QUOTE ] Ridiculous. How is Allen Cunningham underrated at this point? Maybe a year+ ago, but still? He is afterall in this thread for being on a list of 4 people with the best tourney results since the boom, so is he really undiscovered or not getting his due credit? |

It's pretty amazing that the 4 people with the best tournament resumes (IMO, at least) are all from the same pack that hung out and discussed hands together a few years ago.
