I picked up a chip set at http://www.chipcustomizer.com since they had a customizable poker chip set that you do at home. Makes pretty sweet chips where you can put your face on them and stuff. That's the one I would recommend. [/ QUOTE ] That's pretty cool. How well do the stickers hold up? Do they peel off easy, or do the logos wear off? |

Re: Best chips to use for home game ?
www.chiptalk.net has all sorts of resources. I have a clay set that are monogrammed from http://www.thepokerchipcompany.com
I also have a set from http://pokerchipsdepot.com/mfg-subca...=94&mid=-1 They are plastic, but they stack well and they were cheap. I would stay away from the 7 gram chips. |

Re: Best chips to use for home game ?
I have the Nexgens and love them. Everyone that plays makes comments about how nice they feel. But the real selling points for me were 1) nobody else around here (I live in a pretty small town) has chips like them, so I don't have to worry about someone sneaking chips into my game 2) I was able to order the specific quatities or the specific colors that I wanted. I play mostly cash games and need more of certain colors, but was able to order enough of the other colors to facilitate a tourney if I want. I think that you would be very happy with these chips.

Re: Best chips to use for home game ?
I just bought a set of 500 Paulson Pharaoh clay chips and they are absolutely fantastic. I love them and they were a huge hit at the home game this week.
Great designs. Look em' up. |

Re: Best chips to use for home game ?
This is one of those areas that you have no idea just how far folks will go in just talking about a narrow sub-subject. Go to Chiptalk.net . Though it may seem daunting as for each of the posts here there will be 20 threads, this is THE place to find information about different kinds of chips at all different price levels. You will be able to get all kinds for chip calculator spread sheets for different structures and buy chips form other members at prices better than on ebay in general.
They are also always running group buys of various sorts. One option you could do is get actual retired casino chips. Another is to get chips made buy the biggest casino chips suppliers but have custom labels (Paulson, Chipco and Blue Chip co.) |

[/ QUOTE ] Without knowing your budget, it is impossible to answer your question. So do what the others have suggested: go to chiptalk. Read some of the reviews as well as the posts. And then if you still have questions, post a query. CT is a friendly and helpful bunch, but do try to at least have a budget in mind: chips can range from .05 to well over a dollar each. And while you can get custom Chipcos and BlueChips (BCC), you cannot get custom Paulsons. You can, of course, get labels for any kind of chip, but (not to be rude) putting a label on a Paulson chip is kind of like embroidering a logo on an Armani suit. You COULD do it, but why on earth WOULD you? Good luck, and see you at CT! |
