Am I alone in thinking that III was absolutely horrible? I couldn't even finish it. I had heard it wasn't great so I didn't rent it thinking it was going to be another II or anything.

If I could make a wish, it would be that Coppola re-edit I & II, and weave Deniro's early Don days (in flashback form) into Godfather I.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is a re-edit that is exactly that, with some extra scenes too. (but with toned down violence, which makes it not really that cool) The Godfather Saga

If you don't like the first two, you officially have terrible taste in film. The problem is you, not the movies.

III is bad because its such a depature from the first two. Plus the acting is horrible and the storyline is absurd.

I love the first and the second part but I rate first as the best. Never seen third and will never see it. Watched 30 mins and it was way too retarded.

I've always been partial to II, but it's close. I think III is pretty bad and I wish that it was never done or that it was more of a continuation of things into the '70s. III was especially bad because he could've really went in a few awesome directions and the one he chose was kind of a joke.

Well, I'll be damned!

I remember when this was shown on TV that I didn't even watch it, because I assumed that they would edit out many of the scenes.

I did not pick up on the fact that Coppola had done that serious a level of re-editing.

Thanks for the info!

Oh boy...here we go! I is my fav. movie of ALL TIME! I'm not even old enuff to appreciate it and I get mesmerized everytime its even on TV nowadays. Though, watching a movie on TV never does it any justice. DONE, period, nothing else more to add that hasnt been reiterated everywhere.

I def. loved II too. The Vito parts are the best. Matter of fact, I wanna rewatch it soon to refresh myself, its been a while.

I think III was just misunderstood. So the bandwagon-jumpers hate along w/ the majority. Not nearly as bad as the masses make it seem.
