Default Re: Rate my Play versus Allin3High

It's not a valuebet. They are folding TT here. We don't mind just taking it down here if villains have AK/AQ type hands or small pairs though. Checking makes the hand hard to play I guess, since your hand looks exactly like what it is. And calling a bet from CO if it's checked to him can't be good. Are we check folding?

Why is leading flop ok?

[/ QUOTE ]

We can't fold to a c-bet, so we will probably lose a regular sized bet anyway if we are behind.

If we are ahead, we will deny high card hands a free card.

We get to decide the bet size. (Hero did this poorly IMO)

If we get called or raised we know we are behind.

The check/call line which is often attractive because it could induce a semibluff is less so here, because of position, relative position, pot size and no less than two remaining streets.

Reads on MP? I don`t like the preflop call and would check the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]

You Fold JJ in that situation... is it because you fear a 4bet by original raiser???

[/ QUOTE ]

I didn`t say I fold preflop. I said I don`t like calling. That`s why I would need a read on what MP 3-bets here with and how hard my postflop decisions will be against him..

I would use the exact same argument for the exact opposite course of action. If we check/call we gain the $$ of a cont bet. If we lead we are over representing our hand...

This is a 12% chance and really should not be our main concern….I mean you're in a situation where you are never getting value from worse hands!! You may get better hands to fold….

MMMMmmmm So you would have bet 1/2 the pot??

Yes we would…IT's cost us more than a quarter of our stack. Worth it.??

It's certainly a more difficult option than betting flop and shutting down to any further action. But I do think it's more profitable/ will cost us less..If we check:
- Allin3high could bet, if he bets and MP calls or raises we have an easy fold
- If he bets and MP folds, less easy fold. But We're probably behind.
- If Allin3high checks and MP bets We can call sometimes .
IF Allin3high calls or raises we have easy fold.
If it's checked around and turn comes a non scare card we maybe get some value from draws and worse hands….

Default It was me matress

Ok friend in question IS ME !
First off flop was 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
GREAT FLOP for JJ !
I actually bet 90 into a pot of 139. Its a bet that if Im raised Im letting it go...My thinking is if I check I am straight away handing the initiative to villains. Fire and see where you stand...I found out - Had the best hand and both villains fold...

first of all just fold pf...

secondly, "My thinking is if I check I am straight away handing the initiative to villains. Fire and see where you stand...I found out - Had the best hand and both villains fold... "

it's pretty common knowledge that this is an awful bet because in general it's gonna be tough to get action from worse hands. who cares if you let villain's keep the initiative? at least you won't spew ev all over the place like you did here...
