Re: play this hand with me grinders.
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I might 4 bet here...We are out of position and I want to try to take pot down pf. If he re-raises us we can assume AA,KK, possibly AK and then I would probably fold. [/ QUOTE ] what if he just calls? Alot of tight players like him would only call with JJ+ AK and raise again with AA, so we would be risking alot of money to find out whether he has AA. [/ QUOTE ] This is why I like bet pot, check turn. there's a good chance he bets the turn. If he checks it through we can lead the river. Then the question is do we shove, bet 1/2 pot, and call or fold to a shove thereafter. [/ QUOTE ] that was to the pf play actually |

[ QUOTE ] Just b3bai. [/ QUOTE ] What does this mean? [/ QUOTE ] it means bet / 3bet allin (lead out then push to a raise). This hand is tough, i don't think you're ahead more often than you're behind. Especially if he's extra tight, he may not even reraise with AKo, so you're left with AKs / AA / KK. |

Re: play this hand with me grinders.
I think he's less likely to play AK aggressively on this flop as AA/KK so the "9 ways to have AK, 6 ways to have KK+" argument isn't concrete.

Re: play this hand with me grinders.
keep in mind he can't narrow your range (by calling the 3bet) as much as you can narrow his. He will play AK aggressively enough to get it all in if you take the right line.

Re: play this hand with me grinders.
Unless villain is a completely retarded slowplayer I expect him bet with AK here in which case we push. I donīt see how we lose value to AK by checking.

Unless villain is a completely retarded slowplayer [/ QUOTE ] nah, he's a tight nit. If he calls a bet on the flop he must have AK imo. If he raises he has AA/KK quite often. |

Re: play this hand with me grinders.
Let's check out the EV here. A nitty villain has KK or AA the vast majority of the time after he reraises preflop.
If stacks go in, the final pot will be~$125. Rake will take that number down to ~$120. Hero risks $58 if he decides to get it in. That means Hero needs 48% equity. If villain's range is {AA(3), KK(3), and AKs(3)} and all hands will get all-in on the flop, EV = (6/9)*[.04*$120+.96*-$58] + (3/9)[.84*$120+.16*-58] = $-34 If he reraises all combos of AK preflop, then EV = (6/15)*[.04*$120+.96*-$58] + (9/15)[.84*$120+.16*-58] = +$34 What if you use the 70% RR of AKo? That's about 6 out of 9. EV = (6/12)*[.04*$120+.96*-$58] + (6/12)[.84*$120+.16*-58] = $20 What if he reraises 70% of the time and only loses 75% of your stack on average with AK? EV = (6/12)*[.04*$120+.96*-$58] + (6/12)[.84*$105+.16*-58] EV = $14 Basically, if you think is AKo is in his reraising range, I'd suggest B3BAI. If you think it's not, I'd suggest c/f. |

Re: play this hand with me grinders.
I would 4-bet this. AK probably just calls or folds. Most Tags with KK-AA would probably come over the top and you can lay it down.

[ QUOTE ] Just b3bai. [/ QUOTE ] What does this mean? [/ QUOTE ] Bet, 3-bet all-in. That is, you bet, and after your opponent raises, you can re-raise all-in. |

Re: play this hand with me grinders.
Don't forget that he does have JJ alot here and on that flop I'd certainly expect him to check behind you, I think that's being neglected but I suppose others don't run as bad as I do . Imagine your horror if a T comes on the turn. Bet the flop and get it all in.
