Re: Let\'s have the set over set discussion now (100nl hands vs nits)
i prefer to not play 22-44 for alot of money preflop multiway(heads up i dont care). i know set over set is rare but it seems to happen to me a fair amount. i was also quaded over quaded playin 200bbs deep with 44. if i do happen to flop a any set ill probably go all in. on one occasion i folded a set on the turn in a 3 way hand becuase one guy was a set minor and i had the lonely 333. i was right.

I'm not good enough to fold sets--ever.

Re: Let\'s have the set over set discussion now (100nl hands vs nits)
I can count on two fingers the number of times I've laid down a set. Looking at my PT stats, they are my most profitable hands. You will lose once in a while, but in the long run they should be great money-makers. My rule: get as much money in as quickly as possible.

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not good enough to fold sets--ever. [/ QUOTE ] me either... but the two times I can remember thinking I should, I was right. How they played the hand just screamed big set, but I got it all-in anyway. Something along the lines of villian raises, I call with mid pair, flop is Kxx giving me mid/bot set, villian checks when it's headsup, I bet, he calls, he checks/min raises turn, I reraise, and before I know it all the money is in and I'm up against top set. Very rare to happen tho... so I'm not going to worry about it too much - there is plenty of other holes to fill in my game first! |
