Re: $15-$30, Flopping the Joint
I'm hoping to maybe take a shot at this game, so I'll give a few thoughts as well.
Agreed with everyone else on the flop check-raise. I don't understand what you think people are drawing to, and the odds are pretty good that someone is going to bet, even with a naked Q. Turn is fine, I play it the same. On the river, jeez, I would never fold, but I can't imagine a 3-bet is any good either. I'd probably just call, barring some specific read that this guy will wait until the river to raise with a monster. |

Re: $15-$30, Flopping the Joint
Why wouldn't he raise me on the flop with something would that filled up on the turn (i.e. 2 pair or a set)? This was my main question about the hand.

Re: $15-$30, Flopping the Joint
He may have flopped the same straight and flat called the flop as a "slowplay".
I also agree with everyone else that C/Ring this flop is best. |

Re: $15-$30, Flopping the Joint
c/r flop, bet turn, bet-call river. On the flop you are in a situation where people will put bets in drawing nearly dead. Don't protect yourself against that! You have to call the river.

Do you want to 3bet the river? No way you are beating an old man 2/3 of the time on the river here so it seems like a simple call. |
