I'd say it's better than even money that they will announce on Thursday that they are pulling out of the US.

My thoughts are that this is strickly related to NETeller allowing transfers for sportsbooks which are in clear violation of the wire act. The DOJ is picking off the low hanging fruit.

This is bad for the two founders, but I don't believe this will effect NETeller. NETeller has received no communication regarding this and are not named in any suit.

It may force NETellter to speed up their decision to stay or go from online gambling, but I don't think it will change their minds. They'll do whatever it is they were going to do, just probably a bit quicker now.

They have scheduled a conference call for Thursday. Sniper has details near the end of the other, long Neteller thread.

one silver lining may be us seeing the emergence of the 'next' neteller sooner rather than later. this business should have a model in place that is basically constructed to avoid the US DOJ. when Neteller was built then made public, crap like this was mostly like being hit by lightening. the 'next' place will know they will be hated/wanted by the US goverment and can build accordingly.

My question would be how to get money from Neteller into another ewallet. I do have a Citadel account although I have not used it as of yet. I also have an ePassporte account. I try not to transfer money from my bank account into ewallets if I can help it.

Is there any reason to assume that this prosecution will have a short-term effect on Neteller?

[/ QUOTE ]

I look at it this way....what do the Neteller people have to gain from stopping anything now? It's clear that by charging people who ran Neteller before the current legislation, anyone who works there now or in the past could get arrested if they step on US soil. So if they can't travel to the US, why not make some money?

Also, I'd think some ingenious entrepreneur would make a poker only "neteller" to avoid the sports betting issues.
