Re: Casinos Coming To Texas?!?!
[ QUOTE ]
Texas is too big of a concentration of poker players to have legal poker penned up in 12 locations and at the mercy of -EV gambling establishments. The limitation to 12 venues is the kind of semi-pandering to anti-gambling forces where you beg for a few crumbs. But poker players have to make the case that poker and other forms of skill based gambling are different and should be treated differently. [/ QUOTE ] It's hard enough to get a politician to consider gambling at all. I'm not also going to ask him to differentiate between skill vs. luck types of gambling when all they see are random cards and betting with chips. I'll take the bird in the hand thank you. |

Re: Casinos Coming To Texas?!?!
The religious wacs still run the legislature here. I don’t think we will see it anytime soon. Rick Perry isn’t the issue because he can be bought. Just look at him allowing 12 new coal burning power plants to be built.
The power shifted in Washington in the last election but not here. Even so, the Dems in power here are religious wacs. But we can always hope for the best Capt. Homer |

Re: Casinos Coming To Texas?!?!
I have lived in Houston for 6 mo. now and I am fairly certain casinos aren't coming to Texas anytime soon. Didn't you hear? We must protect people from themselves by outlawing gambling, but gogogogogogo GUNS! Guns ftw.

Re: Casinos Coming To Texas?!?!
You can't even buy a six pack in a 7-11 in large swaths of Texas, so I wouldn't old my breath waiting for casino gambling.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure the session starts on the 18th.
