[ QUOTE ]
I don't mind calling the flop or checking the turn based (after the way the flop was played) if our top pair was a Q. 16 cards (KJQ2) can come on the turn that potentially beat our hand. We should definitely charge those hands and attempt to take down the pot. Our hand is too vulnerable to check and let villain bet our hand for us (I like this type of play a lot if our hand is stronger though). [/ QUOTE ] why does a 2 hurt our hand? I call flop and keep pot manageable/extract more money out of weaker hands by underrepping our hand. Raising the flop sometimes folds out weaker pairs, even though it wasnt the case this time. It also bloats the pot and forces us to commit ourselves on an uncomfortable one pair hand. Think about it, if villain hadn't brought out the club, would he still have shoved his stack in with just a pair of 5s? Maybe, maybe not, but more often than not they might let it go to a double barrel. call/check/vb is a better line here ev-wise i think. |

A4 is certainly in his range.

He calls a reraise on flop with A4?

oh and the board is pretty drawless so it's not like you need to "raise to protect ur hand". the flop raise was tiny anyways and if he did have any draw, you were giving him like 3:1 to draw profitably anyway.

He calls a reraise on flop with A4? [/ QUOTE ] Negative. An A4 could be betting this flop though. I was making an argument for raising the flop. Someone asked how a 2 could hurt our hand. The point is I think we have to raise the flop. |

Meh, didn't notice stack sizez when I replied first. This spot REALLY sucks. You are very likely beaten on the turn, but you are getting darn good oodds.
Anyone like a check-behind on the turn a see what the river brings? That way we can exercise some pot control at least..but meh, actually a very difficult hand to play. |

Check the turn IMO, value bet if checked to. If he is really bad (which he obv is) then this line looks fine.
And turn call is very standard against some aggro donk. |

This had is absolutely fine against an aggressive/possibly donkish player. You have to bear in mind that for a player of his sort at these limits he didn't nec call the flop to c-r the river. How long did he think before pushing the turn? So often I seem to come across people in this spot who when faced with a large bet and knowing the rest will go in on the river elect to just get it all in here with AT/KT/QT or whatever. Sure he could have you beat but not even enough to justify a fold. As someone said before you need an insanely strong read to consider folding TPTK 3 handed against an agg villain getting 4:1 at these limits.

Uhm, check behind on turn, planning on calling a reasonable riverbet.
