Turning people over to the authorities isn't an option in this hypothetical. Either you kill them, or they go on doing what they do.

Also, mob/drug bosses and corrupt politicians kill innocent people all the time. Or ruin people's lives. But even if you don't believe this is the case, assume for the sake of the hypothetical that it's true. I think the War on Drugs is a sham, too, but that's not the point.

I'm not sure I find much difference in this scenario between killing Ted Bundy and killing Pablo Escobar. In fact, PE probably had a lot more blood on his hands than Ted.

I think there is a huge difference between killing Ted Bundy and killing Pablo Escobar for the simple fact that killing Parlo Escobar probably wouldn't save any lives. All the people who died at his hand would have died anyway under a new, possibly more sinister, drug lord.

I don't think a mob boss or a Pablo Escobar kills innocent people for the most part. A Ted Bundy type does however and if I were to kill Ted Bundy before he committed his murders I know for sure I would be saving lives and suffering.
