Stay away from the MC. I usually stay there, and agree with the previous posters.

But right now there's a lot of construction in that area, they are reworking the pool area -- lot of noise coming from the old boardwalk area. Most of the Las Vegas forums are reporting that the MC is very noisey right now. Stay away for the next 6 months or so. Here's one of many posts about the recent construction.

Oh yeah that's right, there is MAJOR construction going on right next to it. I think it's called the "Big Dig".

Can others confirm that the construction is brutal? I am not going to be in my room hardly at all, but would probably like to sleep for a good 4 or 5 hours.

I stayed at the MC for 5 days in September. The construction was in full swing next door, but didn't bother us at all in the hotel, just an unsightly walk to the Bellagio was the only effect I could see. Possible it's gotten more intense over the past couple of months, I guess.

Haven't been to Luxor, so I can't compare the two, but I can say that we were very happy with the MC, would gladly stay there again. The brew pub is awesome, and the cafe on the casino floor is quite good as well. Relatively restrained & elegant decor/atmosphere, neither over-opulent like Bellagio/Venetian/Wynn, nor "faded glory past its prime", nor theme-park-ish like Paris/Excalibur. Struck me as just the right balance between quality and economy.

Not a joke. I believe that's what they're calling it (the constructio part). Supposed to be LV's largest complex, employer and parking sturcture. I think it's going to be called Town Center.

CITY Center. Las Vegas stopped being a town a couple years ago. The sad part of all this is what it has done to my beloved Frank Sinatra. Who let those bastards take over hal f the road? And block traffic willy-nilly to give priority to dump trucks coming and going? GIVE IT BACK!
