The ability to get a job and a good salary is interning and experience during college. Grades matter less

Is that right?

I'm graduating 2010

[/ QUOTE ]

it is all a complete package. interning/experience > school (grades, quality of school, etc). however, everything helps.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would agree that it is a complete package. It can vary between companies and what degree you are working towards however. In my job searching experience [as an engineering student], almost all of my interview questions were based off of on the job experience. (Interning/ Co-oping) With relevant work experience, that is portrayed on your resume well, you will look very presentable with your future employers. (Pending you hold something like a 3.0+ GPA, which is a gimme at most schools.)

I tired to find a job as an EE during senior year and failed miserably. I didnt care too much about school or the major for most of college, and it showed on my resume (lack of experience, gpa was good). So now im working as a software engineer for some reject company in silicon valley making 55k ( = im poor). Seriously considering going back for a MA if things dont work out.

4. $40-$45K depending on x-rate, should get contract tomorrow or wed

I'm giving it a couple years since a fair number of our bosses are getting old and should be retiring soon. Our's is a brand new division created off of our senior design project, so hopefully there will be a lot of chance to move up quickly.
