Re: Is this what good players do on the river?
I do think the river bet is a little large as it is the bad "less than top pair" hands that I want the value from which a half pot gets whilst OPs larger bet usually folds out. The important thing for me when making the 1/2 bets is that you must have the disipline to fold to a raise, even a mini-raise.

How is the flop action? Seems funky to me, think we should bet/raise somewhere?

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] FE - River is a bluff or for value? [/ QUOTE ] obv for value. [/ QUOTE ] Lol xpert. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't say it was good. I'd either bet 1/2 pot or check/fold here. But it's terrible to try to get a worst J or 9 to fold. |

Re: Is this what good players do on the river?
Jay if you said you would call an $8 bet why would you not bet that yourself and fold to any raise? This may be a thin value bet but have bet a lot thinner than this in these spots and they are easily +EV.

Re: Is this what good players do on the river?
Preflop, meh.
Om flop after he minbets for 1/8 pot I'm raising for sure. I'd lead the turn as played. And this river bet is too large assuming it's for value. I kinda like a river c/r better unless he is a total monkey station. |
