So far the consensus seems to be this.

1. No one likes poeple sitting out and taking up seats. People who need to sit out more than 1 or bit or 5 minutes. Should be forced to give up the seat.

2. The lobby should have the "first available seat" option and not force us to join each waiting list of a particular limit individually.

3. Step up your marketing. It is true with the leaving of party from the game I expected stars to reach 150,000 players at once, but its not even close. Reason being is stars is extremely cheap with their affiliate program, almost non existant. A good affiliate program will bring in tons of players and thats what stars needs now.

4. All tables to have fast dealing of the cards, it is way to slow. The flops are extremely slow.

Also a one time name change. Or perhaps a once a year name change.

oooooh yea, cant believe I forgot that one.

better yet tho would actually be an option somewhere where you can set your default buyin in bb for both limit and NL tables

I doubt this will be a consensus for fish. Stars would be foolish to force on all players what 2p2 wants.

I'm not sure how I feel about the sitting-out rule.

Maybe 5-minutes would be better with the exception that if you have returned and are set to play again when the big-blind reaches you then you don't get kicked-off.

This includes if some guy sits-out and the blind passes over you automatically. Which sometimes results in you getting kicked-off even though you were sitting there waiting to pay your big-blind.
very annoying.

On this point, they really have to change their bizarre system for irregular blind situations. Like if you’re UTG and the player on your left goes broke, then you move into the small blind without ever having to post a big blind. That is ridiculous. But it’s been ridiculous for five years and they haven’t made any effort to repair it.

On the sitting out thing, I agree essentially with Microbob but the five minutes should start not when you actually leave the table but when you miss your first blind. For example, at a nine-handed table suppose you play your button and then sit out. The five-minute countdown would not start immediately, but six hands later when it is actually your turn to post. (Also on a related point, you really should still be awarded FPPs for the hands in the meantime, since you have paid for those hands, but I think the software doesn't give them to you.) Then after the five-minute time period has expired, you would not be lifted from the table until the big blind reaches you.

The other thing is, you shouldn’t be allowed to skip an orbit, play an orbit, then skip the next orbit. I don’t know the best way to handle this. Maybe you should get a maximum of one break every forty-five minutes; after that if you click ‘sit out’ you would get a warning that you will be removed from the table immediately if you fail to post.

One other thing, what does QFT stand for? It seems to appear in every thread but I missed the memo explaining it.

The posters have it right - the graphics are unreadable when you make the tables smaller, players sit out for far too long etc.

I hate the secrecy surrounding the future of the bonuses you can purchase and I hate that if you joined late in the year (which a lot of people did), you have to start over on Jan 1st. That's simply stupid.

Neither PokerStars or Full Tilt took full advantage of Party's demise in the U.S. Maybe they're worried they won't be around themselves for much longer - let's hope I'm wrong. But they can't exactly advertise now in the U.S., can they? The ads we're seeing are from old contracts.

In all the years I've worked for different businesses, both as an employee or freelancer, I've noticed most of them were mismanaged. Owners tend to be set in their ways, but, hey, it's their business not mine. Party at it's biggest still had tons of problems.

I think the main problem with all the sites is that you shouldn't be allowed to use any aids (PokerTracker, PAHUD) whilst playing. It's OK to go over your PokerTracker AFTER the session. The casual player doesn't stand a chance and it's not a level playing field at all. You're not allowed to use computer aids in a live casino, why should you online? Never mind the UIGEA, 12-tabling computer savvy grinders using all the aids are the real threat to the future of online poker.

If you're going to allow PokerTracker whilst in play you should have a disclaimer when new players join that other players are using this and you should get one yourself. That would only be fair.

You need solid marketing, affiliate programs and regular new player signups to get lots of fish in. Not HORSE and FPPs.

[/ QUOTE ]

Players have been saying this forever. I'm not sure what they talk about in their board meetings when this subject comes up but I can't think of any good reasons to not up their affiliate program. Are things like the aston martin, 2.5 moneymaker millions, and vip free rolls really going to bring in more money then a strong affiliate program?

put me in the 1 orbit and you are gone if you are sitting out camp. I dont care if you are letting the dog out or taking a whizz or smoking or whatever, for anything you are gunna do, if it takes longer than an orbit to do, you are an inconsiderate [censored] for sitting out. You can argue all you want otherwise, but its the truth. Get off the [censored] table and rejoin other ones when you get back. And if the table is so great that you dont wanna do that, learn how to piss in under 5 minutes (what are you, 60?) and tough out your cigarette addiction, and quit being a jackass

[/ QUOTE ]

Those who say this need to learn to play shorthanded, as any real poker player should. I mean jesus -- "I have to play 7 handed at a full ring table" -- I can't believe that people who fancy themselves to be real poker players actually think, let alone say, let alone whine about, this kind of crap. Three orbits really isn't all that long.
