I dont' like it. Either value bet to get value from a J or high PP or c/r ai if he bets.

i like it cause it looks like a busted draw, and if he has a busted draw hes not paying off a river bet anyways so this odd push will keep him guessing

[/ QUOTE ]

This is never a busted draw.

we know its never a busted draw but in a villains eyes... hmm hes bet the whole way ive called down with A10 i hit trips on hte river and if he had anything that beat me why wouldnt he just bet less to try and get a call. hmmm this guy must think that the only way he can win the hand is by going all in so i cant call. he probably has a busted draw.

this obv isnt how every villain thinks and OP may be better off VBing ITLR. but i dont feel there is anything wrong with htis line. plenty of aces stack off here as well as some PP's and worse boats

im not saying this is how id play this hand every time but i like it here esp to mix it up.

I don't really like it because he'll bet any hand that can call here, and also call a c/r. But you don't give him the chance to bluff a missed draw. Also, it seems very unlikely that he has a boat here, more likely just Ax or a FD.

Bunch of weak-ass villains check behind here with A-notsogood-kicker.

Even at a really passive table, you probably hear from any hand that boats up on the river (aces up,sets)on the turn. That said, I never really try this so I don't know how often you get calls from trips decent kicker.

opponent dependent but id say yes.

i watched a guy last night while railbirding speedlimit on his way to bustoville call a river shove with trips.

action went raise A10 by "hero" 2 calls pf

flop 10 10 x 2 clubs check check bet pot call call.

turn j clubs checks around

river blank check shove 80 into 89$ "hero" calls with a10

i know its a little different with given action and where the cards fell etc etc. but the point is even facing a PSB on hte river this guy calls off almost a full buyin with trips. people have a hard time laying it down

shover had the flush BTW

Check raise all in is good if you're certain he'll bluff at the pot. This is a nice place for a sexy, but only if you think it will work.

River check, any A, along with any set (now boat) will bet thinking you were semi bluffing a now busted draw.

Any busted draw will most likely check behind unless they happened to have a pair with it (like KJ[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].)

No busted draw will call a push, with the possible exception of KJ[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or QJ[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Any ace with decent kicker or set will call a push here I think.

In short, you are never getting much if anything from the busted draw.

But the other hands are often going to pay you off.

Push good. Aggression is +EV.

This is how I built my bankroll at 100nl...yet huge overbets like this work significantly less at 200nl. :-/.
