la,

If you make it 5k the opponent may decide to take a flop and outplay you. I'd just stick it in preflop.

This is okay as long as there aren't many people left to act in the hand. If you haven't heard from 3+ people yet, I wouldn't wanna get 500bbs in with AA.

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 19.9990 % 01.96% 18.04% { AA }
Hand 2: 19.9990 % 01.96% 18.04% { AA }
Hand 3: 19.7434 % 19.72% 00.02% { 9s8s }
Hand 4: 22.0114 % 21.99% 00.02% { 6c5c }
Hand 5: 18.2473 % 18.23% 00.02% { QdJd }

yeti, he has confidence that his postflop game is stronger than most, so hell take a gamble. That said, less skilled players, such as you or I, should definitely go allin so they dont have the chance to get outplayed.

Hmm... I do remember a time when the thinking on this board was that past a certain point, even big pairs are playing more for set value. Now it's like -meh, whatever. It's almost like 2p2 is evolving

For serious, I don't have much experience playing with over 300bbs, but I'll try to contribute my thoughts.

If the player is clearly worse than you but will call most reraises, I would reraise a medium range OOP, suited connectors 1-2 gappers, 88+, AK, AQ. Something like that.

There are so many types of players. Some will fold a ton to your 3bets until you 3bet 90% of hands and force them to play a big pot out of their comfort zone. Against them, raise everything you'd even consider playing.

Against good players, I reraise v. tight OOP when deep. Obviously add some speculative hands in there so that they don't know what you have, but why play a big pot OOP vs. a good player. I'm sure you can find fish in the game. In position, I raise almost anything I play.

Basically, yeah, it's player dependant (based on how they play in raised pots and reraised pots) with the most important player being yourself. Be honest with yourself about how comfortable you are in large reraised pots OOP.

we want to play a medium ish pot with these stacks.

Really? We don't want to get it all in preflop as an 80/20 favorite or on the flop as a big favorite either? I like big pots with big hands.

AA is not a "big hand", its only 1 pair
