In a late tournament situation you raise on a blind steel to an amount that seems to leave your opponent no folding equity on a resteal (throwing out the steering wheel) this effectively narrows your opponents hand range and combined with holding 32o or some such crap allows you to actually fold.

I can think of two distinct situations. One you will soon be reading about in William Chen's book. It is regarding tournaments. The other involves a specific game, not necessarily in tournaments. What are these two poker situations?

David --

Time pots. (I have occasionally wondered if "accidentally" calling a raise out of my big blind out of turn would be binding. It would be better for me if it were and my opponents were thinking clearly.)

There are other, less common, high-rake chicken situations.

Solution for the other guy, when he sees you throw your steering wheel out the window, is for him to throw his steering wheel, brake pedal, and gear shifter out the window while you watch.

Finally, the coup de grace, to insure that he cannot slow down by lifting his foot of the accelerator, is for the other guy to jam the gas pedal down with an umbrella or something, climb into the shotgun seat, and tape a cloth covered in chloform over his mouth so as to pass out.

Then you have no choice but to slam on your breaks and reverse until you get out of his path. You'll get out of his path, since you won't be aligned perfectly.

Is another part of the solution refusing to look at the other guy?
