[ QUOTE ] crix, so why does ban on online gambling makes exceptions for horse racing ?? [/ QUOTE ] This is news to me. I have not seen where it has been exempted. I doubt, however, that any exemption would carry over to illegal offshore bookmaking facilities. [/ QUOTE ] The UIGEA exempts horse racing from the transaction filtering requirements. This was discussed rather heavily when the bill was passed. |

crix, so why does ban on online gambling makes exceptions for horse racing ?? [/ QUOTE ] The UIGEA "ban" (which is the wrong term) never included legal bets under the Interstate Horseracing Act. No "exceptions" exist. |

crix, so why does ban on online gambling makes exceptions for horse racing ?? [/ QUOTE ] The exectpion was specifically for US licensed companies. TVG.com is a specific example. It may be possible for partyponies to be licensed in the US, but they would probably require party gaming to divest of other US illegal online gambling operations for the license. ROFL. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I just noticed that party now has horse racing.I wonder if this is a ploy trying to get the US players via horse race betting being legal -then having money in 1 account and sneak them in allowing them to play poker but buyin and cashout via the horse racing section. Any thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] Betting on horse races in the US is only legal at the racecourse or at a licenced simulcast facility. Betting on horse racing online is no less illegal than beting on Football or Basketball. [/ QUOTE ] This is SO not true. Check out YouBet for one. [/ QUOTE ] Youbet.com and tvg.com are the 2 licensed online providers of simulcasts in the US. |
