"Do you think your 3K in rake amount to anything when compared to the relationship FT has with an affiliate like Card Player or others.."

me and thousands of others, absolutely. you're speculating about their relationships and the long term, something which you know little about.

if they would ever state their reasoning there would be no need for discussions like this, but they don't.

Back when Party split from the skins there was a number of discussions similar to this..It was very often rumored that Party would allow RB and customers to switch affiliate in order to get RB..This was even made public by a few RB affiliates for a very short time..It was also discussed the influence that NON-RB Affiliates had on Party's final decision not allow RB..Thus coining the stickied phase..

If you are dead set on getting RB at FT you should open a new account in someone elses name like a relative or closest friend..Remember at some point in time you may be asked to provide ID..

Total revenue = Price x Quantity

If the rake is lowered so that there is more play, the total revenue will increase. That is why the ski areas decided to lower their annual pass rates in the early 90's. That is also why WalMart does so well. This is also known and the masses of asses strategy of marketing. Now, if they are not going to take advantage of their opportunity, they will underperform. Some other site (PokerStars) will become the dominant platform.

In poker, there is an advantage to being the preferred trading venue. Size matters in terms of game selection and fish. One of the reasons that Party grew and then accelerated was that they became the preferred location to play for all levels of games. At one point in history, there were dozens of stock markets in the US; now there are only a few.
