Fun semi-autbiographical fiction:
Bukowski (Ham on Rye if you want to read about childhood from a strange perspective, Factotum or Post Office about work, Women about Women).

Non-fiction: I'll second the Dawkins recommendation.

Just finished The Blind Side by Michael Lewis (Author of Moneyball). Excellent read. It's about the evolution of the left tackle as the premier line position in the NFL, and how they are the 2nd highest paid position today. There is also a parallel story about a poor kid from Memphis who happens to have all of these tremendous physical gifts that make him a perfect fit for left tackle.

Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

You can borrow my copy of Motherless Brooklyn from bdk3clash. He's had it for about 2.5 years and through three apartments.

Just Finished : Manhunt
and Hagakure

The first is an well written account of the events surrounding the assasination of Lincoln. Good history and exciting to read.
The latter is the reflections of a "retired" warrior. Written as short snippets, easy to read. Interesting to see the musings of a soldier during a changing time in his life. Some of the 'philosophy' still applicable today.

In the middle of Class 11 . Insiders look into the training of a CIA officer, and espionage in general, but a little flat writing style.

On tap at home: God delusion, Meditations , and Prisoner's Dilemma

The Godfather, amazing book! I'm only half way through but hell, it's good.
The professor the banker and the suicide king, this was a good one too. I enjoyed it.

Just finished "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", by Mitch Albom. Great quick read, I highly recommend it. I don't read much and happened to randomly stumble upon this book (was looking for a cookbook). I was pleasantly surprised.

I didn't know this was a movie... LOL, wow.

Oh, I get it. For a brief moment I thought you were serious.

Undercover Economist by Tim Harford. Standard for anyone who liked Freakonomics.

Fast Company: How Six Master Gamblers Defy The Odds - And Always Win by Jon Bradshaw. Someone recommended this in limon's golf hustling thread.

Night Shift by Stephen King. My first time reading anything from King

Fooled by Randomness by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. Not directly related to poker but should still be standard reading for any of us.

and still waiting to arrive:

Introduction to NLP by someone whose name escapes me. Bruiser posted about it in OOT and I thought there's no harm in trying.

Battle Royale by Koushum Takami. Recommended by a friend, the premise looks fascinating.

I just picked up James Ellroy's The Black Dahlia last night at an airport. Despite having woken up at 4AM to fly out and returning at 10PM after a full day, I could not go to sleep and had to read on the plane.

He has a strong voice and writes compelling novels.

The new Michael Lewis book recommended by Jon34 also looked good and I like Lewis's stuff, but I'll wait for paperback.
