Re: My first time at 10/20 6max....
[ QUOTE ]
I think you can consider checking back on the flop here, as it is a WA/WB spot, and you can disguise your hand better to get paid off later on. If you are ahead, you are likely pretty safe. Having bet the flop (not terrible by any means), I really think you ought to check back the turn. Then you can call a river bet or bet if checked to. As played, you have to determine if the villain is likely to play missed diamonds this way. That is too opponent specific for anyone to advise you about calling/folding river. [/ QUOTE ] Is it really wa/wb if he's on some sort of draw? flush or maybe gutshot + flush maybe? and why would a nine lead for 1/2 pot when i've shown moderate/heavy aggression on two streets... wouldn't a c/r be optimal? |

[/ QUOTE ] Agree completly with this statement. Since you didn't, I would muck the river. I don't think players are that willing to draw on paired boards to their flushes. Definitly looks like a 9 hoping to maximize gains versus a medium king |

Re: My first time at 10/20 6max....
makes sense, guess my hand reading sucks too much for HSNL at this point.
fwiw, i was playing ~6 tables at the time, and I put him on a flush draw, so i insta called. he basically called me a fishtard b/c i instacalled, and now i know why. he had A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] this just looked SOOO much like a FD to me, and I really didnt see a 9 or strong K playing it this way (why would he risk a FD completing) but ah - this is HSNL, and I have much to learn. |

Re: My first time at 10/20 6max....
In fact he was the fishtard lol. Calling down with his draw like that on that board. Thats important info to have though, versus him a river call may be +EV here. Versus a strong player it is not as you are beat most times.

I feel I pay off too many rivers with a check behind on the turn here. I don't think people bluff enough.
