If they win out:

1. Ohio St.
2. Michigan
3. Florida
4. USC
5. Notre Dame
6. Rutgers
7. Arkansas

The 2nd spot in the NC game is probably Florida's to lose at this point, despite almost losing at home this week. If they go down, the USC-Notre Dame winner looks to be next in line.

Rutgers likely needs USC to beat ND and UCLA to upset the Trojans on the last week of the season, along with a Florida loss to have a chance. I don't think it's fair, but unless the pollsters move Rutgers ahead of the aforementioned teams this week, that's probably how it shakes down.

California anyone? BTW, I think it has to come down to UF losing to FSU then UF winning the SEC. I don't see USC or ND winning out. RU of course, also has to beat Cincy, 'Cuse, and that team that is in Morgantown.

Yeah, Cal has nothing to lose at this point so they could give SC a run, but after failing to beat Arizona on the road, winning @SC seems like a tall order. I like UCLA's chances a little better at home in the rivalry game.

It really sucks for Rutgers, though, if they win out. If the Big East really is the 2nd best conference in the country, an undefeated team should get a shot at the title given the circumstances.

Rutgers.

If you can go undefeated in a BCS conference and not make the NC game, then take that conference out of the BCS.

[/ QUOTE ]

they want to...BCS contract happened so long ago that it was before the suddent departure of 3 marquee teams. Trust me, the other conferences don't want the Big East in as it currently is.

[/ QUOTE ]

Imagine if that happened? The state of West Virgina would secede from the Union.

[/ QUOTE ]

That would be ironic since it was their lack of sucession that created their state in the first place.

A team that beat Wisconsin by 14 and Notre Dame by 20+.

Wisconsin is an illusion wrapped in a one-team schedule.

It would be great to see RU in the top 7. That program has come so far in the past 3 years.

hmm all I know after this weekend is that apparently NOBODY wants to play in the national championship...contenders are dropping like flies, and Florida was very, very unimpressive, got outplayed, and probably deserved to lose that game.

The more and more I watch, the more I think a close game between UM/OSU may deserve a rematch. THe only reason I don't think that should happen is that it wouldn't be fair to the winner, as they will get a much easier game by playing one of the one-loss teams (in my opinion of course)

Our BCS overlords are busy preparing an almost-complete clusterf*ck scenario. Here's what happens next:

tOSU beats Michigan by 30 points.
USC loses to Cal but beats Notre Dame
Florida loses the SEC championship game to Arkansas
Arkansas loses to LSU but beats Florida
Notre Dame loses to USC
Rutgers gets annihilated by W. Virginia
W. Virginia manages to lose to S. Florida or Pitt
Wake loses another game
Louisville manages to lose another game
I'd come up with something for Boise State, but who cares they barely beat San Jose State

Result: One fine mess -- no highly regarded 1 loss team to face tOSU.

The first part of the plan (Auburn, Texas and Cal going down, Florida so close) has already come to pass -- so admit it - you can't completely rule this out.

Mwahhahahahah.

YES THIS IS INTENDED TO BE A JOKE. ESPECIALLY THE PART ABOUT tOSU WINNING BY 30.
