Nice hand. I think you played this very well. I definately bet this flop for three reasons:

1. Value - It is much more likely you have the best hand here than not. With those stats, I value bet this guy every chance I get.

2. Charge draws. If opponent has a draw, force the donk to make a mistake and call without odds.

3. I almost always bet the flop! I know Pokey's Cbet post was up today, and he had some great points, but the fact still remains that I nearly always bet the flop when I raise preflop. If I am going to bet when I miss, I definately should be most of the times when I hit. Against this villain, this is a hit.

Turn check is good. Now we lose to TK, AQ, AJ, QJ, and a set. We have some showdown value here, though. Checking the turn keeps a river bet small enough to calldown, and it induces a bluff from the hands we do beat.

Bob,

Yes, you are an idiot. However this hand is perfect.

checking or betting flop doesn't really matter.

I would tend to bet vs bad / passive and check vs good / aggressive. This board does get sicker, but if guy is a donk bet the turn as well in position.
