Re: 12 buyin downswing in last 5000 hands
OP - I'm running at 6.22ptbb/100 over my last ~20k hands at NL100...but I was looking at the graph the other day and there is a 10 BI downswing in the middle (span of about 6k hands). Despite this I'm still up over 2k in this stretch...variance sucks but it happens, and in the long run if you play goot you will win.

Re: 12 buyin downswing in last 5000 hands
I went through a 20 buyin downswing in 2 days to end October @ 200NL. It's poker. You run [censored] than ever one day and then everything turns around the next. And no it was not tilt, no draws hit, got set over set a couple of times. A-A all in pf not holding up, losing with a smaller flush, etc, etc. It just sucks when it happens in a short period of time.

I had a 9 buy in downswing over the past couple weeks at NL 100. [censored] happens, you will get through it.

Re: 12 buyin downswing in last 5000 hands
Big downswing for me 10bis in October. KK vs AA. KK not holding up against QQ. AK vs a set of AA in reraised pot. Overflushes. AA not holding up against KK. Set over sets. Top set outdrawn by bottom set. Sets gutshotted, flushed, etc. (I'm down $300 with pocket treys as sets getting outdrawn.) Oh, not to mention my UTG blind steals with AA/KK didn't help.
Always be prepared to run worse than you ever imagined possible, and stop before you kill your bankroll. |
