40/80 limit hold'em is spread often enough in the evenings. I've also played 20/40 Triple Draw at the Venetian at the end of the summer. Sometimes you have to be willing to start the list and bring a friend or two to get the game started.

Parking is the single biggest reason I have not been back to MGM. Action is comperable at other rooms with much more convenient access.

Park at TI and walk across the street. You can access the TI parking garage via Spring Mtn Road, avoiding the Strip.

IMO Venetian may have the worse self parking garage set up.

Ditto! Its terrible, great room though

Venetian has two valets. The front valet (which is the closest one to the poker room) is registered guests only pretty much all the time. However, if you have a poker pass, you can valet in the front, and it is a very short walk to the poker room.

This is true. I would never think of trying Venetian's garage during some large Sands convention. I've parked at Harrah's or TI or Wynn and walked to Venetian when I was intentionally going looking for poker playing conventioneers (yumyum). (Hint: SEMA is going on now. >100,000 car people--I really should be down playing again tonight but I'm sorta trying to catch up on real work in between 2+2 reading/writing.)

You didn't miss anything. Car nerds don't gamble much, they ogle strippers.

I beg to differ, sir. I played with a table full of SEMA people tonight and they tried very very hard to give me their chips. I tried pretty hard to take 'em, too, but had this problem with my AA vs KK vs JJ 3-way all-in losing when a king rivered, followed a few hours later after I'd built the stack back up by AJs losing to 56s when I turned the nut flush and he turned the straight flush (another 3-way all-in). But the spirit was there and they tried their darnedest to leave their money behind after the last day of their convention.

Play in high limit games. They will throw perks at you the first time you do.

Guess they saved up their money for you, because I didn't see any of them on Wednesday or Thursday.

Unless they do it during the first orbit, looks like I'm stuck with long walks.
