Parking at the Venetian?

I know the Venetian has comlimentary valet parking for poker players but I don't want to subject my car to the abuse. I've heard something about them also having an assigned parking area for poker players. Can anyone advise on the best way for a poker player to self park at the Venetian?
Thanks

Park at TI and walk across the street. You can access the TI parking garage via Spring Mtn Road, avoiding the Strip.

IMO Venetian may have the worse self parking garage set up.

I don't know about valet parking just for poker players, but there is a self park area reserved for the high limit regulars with a permit.

All valet parking in Las Vegas is complimentary. Just tip the drivers when you drop off/pickup your car.

Complimentary, yes. Available to everyone all the time? HELL no.

Many casinos (especially during peak hours) will make their valet available for hotel guests or VIPs only. Aladdin is a prime example od a "restricted" valet (and one of the main reasons why I stopped playing there altogether). Their valet is often restricted, so you have to self park, and, to boot, you have to walk around the whole damn mall just to get in the casino. Hopefully, PH will put a valet in the front or cut the walk to the casino way down from self park.

Venetian has two valets. The front valet (which is the closest one to the poker room) is registered guests only pretty much all the time. However, if you have a poker pass, you can valet in the front, and it is a very short walk to the poker room.

The other valet (in the parking garage) is for everyone, but is usually full during peak hours. However, you can still use your poker pass there as well, even if the sign says it is full.

I'm confused. I've only done the Venetian garage a couple times but it didn't seem terribly different than any other setup. Bit of a long walk to the poker room, but still better than MGM. And I've tried parking at TI and walking and that's definitely farther. So...What am I missing?

Parking is the single biggest reason I have not been back to MGM. Action is comperable at other rooms with much more convenient access.

You haven't experienced convention time traffic yet. NOT fun. It is the worst garage of the large casinos.

This is true. I would never think of trying Venetian's garage during some large Sands convention. I've parked at Harrah's or TI or Wynn and walked to Venetian when I was intentionally going looking for poker playing conventioneers (yumyum). (Hint: SEMA is going on now. >100,000 car people--I really should be down playing again tonight but I'm sorta trying to catch up on real work in between 2+2 reading/writing.)

So is that the only time Venetian parking sucks? During large conventions?
