The river fold looks good.

What turn/river plan did you have in mind when you called the turn (other than raise/folding trips)?

slightly off-topic but...

does this refer to anything specific or just indicates he's a mediocre player? what should he be doing better?

I think it just refers to mediocre players who have some idea of pf strategy, and do somewhat think and try to put their opponents on hand postflop, but dont really understand why they should be raising/folding/calling in a particular situation.

Typical mistakes I expect from a player of this description are

i) Coldcalling too much preflop
ii) Not mixing ones games up enough
iii) Not checkraising to protect a vulnerable, mediocre hand, but checkcalling because that is 'what the hand is worth'
iv) Donking picked up draws in an extremely transparent way
v) Making see thru bluffs like on paired boards, where opponent has checked turn behind
vi) Playing monsters in an extremely transparent way, i.e. with actual flopped trips, will c/c, c/r every time, (whereas with air on the paired board, will donk flop or c/r it)

I would have folded on the fold.

Given that you did continue and paired up on the turn, did you consider a turn raise, with that being the last action you put in barring improvement?

[/ QUOTE ]

So if you raise this turn and get called, then the river blanks off, you do not want to value bet there?

What worse hand calls you on the end... AK? If it were a shorthanded blind steal, then maybe yes. But I'd say it's a pretty thin value bet in a live casino setting. This is a full game, and not really a blind steal scenario. Plus that board has basically hit everthing in the playing zone.

12.5:1 to call the river 3-bet, no way he does this with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Ax?

Everyone is sure the flop is a fold and so am I. Curious as to why you felt differently.

The river fold is worse than the flop call.
