Default Commerce 100/200 hand

Tight passive guy who doesn't quite get it open limps in MP, I raise A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button. I have a strong image. SB 3 bets, he is fairly loose passive, sort of random LAG mostly preflop (Max for those who know Commerce regulars), we both call.

Flop is Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets, MP folds, I peel.

Turn is 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB bets, I call.

River is 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB bets, I raise, SB quickly 3 bets, I think and fold.

All comments appreciated,
DeathDonkey

I would've folded the flop... rest is fine.

I don't think I would peel on this flop even getting 8:1 on account of some harsh reverse implied odds. The rest is fine.

One thing about Max is he plays very straightforward postflop. He doesn't auto-bet when he raises (or even reraises) preflop. Because of this, you have an easy flop fold. Easy.

Otherwise, fine. He won't threebet the river without at least a flush (or maybe, just maybe JT...which, yes, he could 3-bet preflop), so your river laydown is good. In fact, if you are gonna raise the river, the ensuing laydown is a must.

But the flop....fold. Please.

Josh

Thanks Josh.

Surfdoc, note I was getting 11:1 on the flop peel.

Umm, yeah. Tired and forgot the limper. At least my advice to muck was correct.

I would have folded on the fold.

Given that you did continue and paired up on the turn, did you consider a turn raise, with that being the last action you put in barring improvement?

I assume the reaoson you peeled super loose is because he's straightforward like josh said.

If that's the case i think you should pull a lame-o free showdown maneuver and raise fold the turn.

So if you raise this turn and get called, then the river blanks off, you do not want to value bet there?
