Re: I just spoke with an executive from UB
[ QUOTE ]
Whereas if it's on UB I can at least fly to vegas, walk up to phil, punch him in the face and ask for a check? [/ QUOTE ] I was going to post the exact same because this was how I viewed it as well. Me: Phil you owe me about $30,000 Phil: I dont know what you're talking about bay beeeee... Me: Sure you do.... the hat? the jacket? Ultimate bet owe's me some money and since you represent them i'm taking it out of your pockets or taking it out on your jaw. Phil: You probably can't even spell jaw... Me: *3 hit combo, jab/hook/uppercut* |

Re: I just spoke with an executive from UB
[ QUOTE ]
I dont know a lot (if anything) about how UB / Party Poker / FT etc does it. But i do know that Poker Stars uses a standard SSL connection on a non standard port. However, you can tell the client to use port 443 (standard SSL), and also a proxy. [/ QUOTE ] Where do you configure proxy settings for the PS client ? I'm very interested (though not in the US) |

Re: I just spoke with an executive from UB
Looks like the thread just got ghostbumped. Just in case, here's the info I got from PokerStars support about proxy configuration :
[ QUOTE ] Hello xxxx, If your system accesses the Internet through a proxy server, you will need to make PokerStars' software aware of it by adding two lines to your USER.INI file, which is a configuration file stored in the PokerStars directory. Here is how the two sections should look after your modifications: [Connect] userport=443 httpproxy=proxy.domain.com:1234 httpsproxy=proxy.domain.com:1234 [ConnectR] httpproxy=proxy.domain.com:1234 httpsproxy=proxy.domain.com:1234 host0=66.212.233.228 port0=443 weight0=3 host1=66.212.233.226 port1=443 weight1=3 host2=66.212.235.34 port2=443 weight2=1 host2=66.212.235.35 port2=443 weight2=1 You must substitute the name of your proxy server and its port number above. For example, if your company's proxy server is proxy.corporation.com and runs on port 8080, you would use the lines: httpproxy=proxy.corporation.com:8080 httpsproxy=proxy.corporation.com:8080 Ask your systems administrator if you are unsure of your proxy server settings or are unsure whether your company uses a proxy server. Regards, Adrian PokerStars Support Team [/ QUOTE ] It seems to work fine for me (tried the lobby and opening a table), though I haven't tried playing yet. |
