This is, while not standard, not uncommon. My thumb does about a 45-degree angle, but my sister does the whole sit-flat at the 90-degree angle thing, too. She can freak some people out by making them think she broke her thumb.

[/ QUOTE ]

My thumbs do also a 90-degree angle. The thing that freaks more people out though is that all of my other fingers make 45-degree angles too when I try to straighten my fingers. I wonder if that's common of if your sister can do that?

I possible have something "wrong" with my joints and even if it's not dangerous it can cause me trouble when I'm getting older.

Worst Superpower Ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm invisible to electronic dart machines. Thank God someone has finally come up with a worse one.

[/ QUOTE ]

My superpower is that I almost always set off metal detectors at airports, even with my pockets empty.

Guess it's all those lead paint chips I ate as a kid.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's your iron will. Your 'ferrivorous direction and drive.' Your steel-plated [censored]. Etc.

My superpower is the ability to always pick the funniest smiley to use during an Instant Messenger conversation. Naturally I have to fight the women off when they discover it.

It has to do with the strength of the muscles in your pinky. For most people they aren't strong enough to stretch the tendon, so your ring finger bends to relieve pressure on the pinky tendon.

You can strengthen the muscles in your pinky so that it can move independently. FWIW I used to not be able to move them independently but somehow developed the strength to do it. If I keep my pinky bet for a bit though I can feel the strain on the muscle and eventually can't hold it down any longer.

[/ QUOTE ]

I know im a nit, but I must point out there arent any muslces in your fingers.

[/ QUOTE ]

It has to do with the fact that the ring and the pinky are connected to the SAME tendon. You can not move your ring finger without your pinky taking the ride as well.
