I like your flop play and I think your turn bet is ok too but I prefer the check behind. His lead/call on the flop seems pretty strong to me, especially as most people tend to play more conservatively early on. I'm not sure how often he actually has something like 88-TT here, and KJd or KTd isn't going anywhere now. I'd say there's a good chance the middle pairs fold to the flop raise or take a different line altogether. As played just call the river. There's a good chance he has a full house here but you definitely can't fold.
His thinking on the flop concerns me too. I guess it depends on a read of this particular player but I'd be worried he's trying to look weak to get you to fire again. It seems alittle strange to me that a decent young player would wait 20-30 seconds knowing it makes him look weak and then call with 99 hoping you don't fire again. |

I would flat call the flop. Why build a big pot on the first hand when you are not even drawing to the nuts.

Jam river. I like the way you played previous streets.

Ugh, given the turn this really feels like the flush did *not* help him and that's not good at all.
I call and expect 99/a bluff/(77, 2x, AK)/a flush in roughly that order. |

Am I an idiot for picking this as a line he could take with KK?
Utg limp could call for some carefullnes. Yellows raise, not likely a steal-AK-Js pp 99+ Flattcall, look for a non A flopp. Lead it-narrows ur range. Wait a safe turn-hit gold and hope you fill whatever ur chasing on river Lead river to get paid and hope you filled your flush? Stokken |

I definitely think KK is a possible hand that he slowplayed preflop for deception. Maybe not as likely as some others but definitely possible.

Nice hand to post. I like a call because this looks a lot like 99 but obv we're not folding.
Hand up to the river is played really well, IMHO. |

I think this is a push on the river. It seems to me like the SB made a speculative call preflop with connecting diamonds and was trying to disguise his hand on the flop by betting out.
The SB would most likely not bet out with 77 or 22 on this flop looking to slow play and extract more chips from a preflop limper and raiser who may both have PPs. If he was good enough to bet out in this situation with 77 or 22 then he deserves your chips, but I do not think you can fold given the pot size and action to the river. I think it is more feasible for him to have KK based on the betting, I think it is possible he disguised his hand preflop by smooth calling and leading the ragged flop. Bottom line once you make that bet on the turn you are committed if you hit your flush and you have to call or push the river. I dont think calling leaves yourself with enough equity to offset the gained equity in shoving and doubling the rest of your stack assuming the Sb calls your river push with a worse flush. J |
