It is real poker (although not my brand either). It just seems as though some players can't adjust properly playing against a shorty. On the other hand some ratholers are just awful.

Agreed. Occassionally I'll 8-12 table short, and then just stay there after doubling up.
Ratholing is for people who can play SS, but not avg buy-in.

Also, SS/Rat is boring as hell. I tried it, it works, people call dominated all day with K5s, A8o, 66, and the free money still doesn't make up for the boredom. So I stopped.

Awesome for clearing bonuses though.

Just watch High Stakes Poker, and notice that Barry Greenstein is shortstacked. He seldom plays, but when he does, its for his stack. Meanwhile Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu, Eli Elezra are f***** around with garbage, potentially risking hundreds of thousands of dollars.
