Glass was one of my biggest influences as a composer. His work is incredible.

A few years (6-8) he redid the score for the original Dracula. If you can find it, it is worth checking out. It not only improved the movie, but actually made parts of it scary.

Scariest movie I've ever seen. But I did see it when I was 12. Maybe it is time to give it another watch.

The main theme for Candyman is incredible and one of my favorite Glass pieces, right alongside Koyaanisqatsi and Einstein on the Beach.

Only somewhat connected...

As some may/may not know, Cabrini Green (projects where it's set) are in the process of being demolished. Came across this documentary in another forum (NSFW):

Looks interesting.

I love Clive Barker's books. Candyman is a good horror film made in a decade mostly bereft of decent horror movies.

It's a shame they haven't adapted any of his better works to the big screen (Great and Secret Show, Weaveworld, etc.)

I do have high hopes for Thief of Always.

Nice review. Minor hijack...Link to the collective ratings of all the movies? You still hosting that DB?

There's a permanent link to it in the Forum sticky, right at the bottom. I no longer update it, and haven't done so since this forum opened.
